These books are ones that are on this list for a few reasons whether that be the content of the book, the time that I read it, or the memories surrounding that book. So let’s get to the discussion!
I would love to go back and read Twilight by Stephanie Meyer for the first time.
This is the book that got me into reading. I saw it on a shelf, thought it looked interesting, read it all the way through in two days. I fell in love with reading because of this book. I honestly do not know who I would be if I hadn’t read this book and got into reading. I wouldn’t have the friends I have today. I wouldn’t be a writer and book blogger and…I just would be a completely different person. This book was a game-changer for me.
I would love to go back and read The Vampire Diaries by L. J. Smith for the first time.
This is the first book series that I read through the night. I fell in love with these characters and the epic storyline and…I just really love these books. I started watching The Vampire Diaries TV series and I really enjoyed it. So my grandma went and bought me the first two bind ups of the series, which included books 1 and 2, and 3 and 4. I flew through all of them, and it really just made me love the television series even more. I just really appreciated the characters and I think I understood them more after I read the books, even if they did change a lot. Several months ago, I did a comparison between the characters in the books and the characters in the show, so if you want to check that out, I’ll link it here.
I also would love to go back in time and read The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare.
This series jump started an obsession with the Shadow World. It really opened my eyes to the genre of Fantasy and really made me appreciate tortured characters. This series has overtaken my life. I just want to be able to read this for the first time and witness how quickly I became obsessed with this series and Cassandra Clare’s writing. The movie came out and it was a gargantuan letdown. It was not good. It didn’t really stay true to the book or the characters at all. And now we have the TV show. The show is good, not great, but decent. I like it better than the movie and sometimes the episodes are really great. But the book series will always be better, and it will always have a special place in my Book Freak heart.
I would love to read Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell for the first time.
This book is what got me into contemporaries. I instantly connected with Cath. She reminded me of me. She was a great character. I really loved the storyline and I just really loved this book. I have talked about it in more posts than I can name, and it has literally taken over my life. I just find myself thinking about these characters literally all of the time, and I will be rereading this soon, so you’ll get to see a book review of all my feelings in a couple of months.
Now this is the last one because I could literally go on and on about books I want to read for the first time again and then this post would be forever long. But it is The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins.
It has been literally forever since I have read this series. I think I read it in seventh grade, and this opened my eyes up to the genre of Dystopian. It has come to my attention that a lot of people don’t know what Dystopian is. Basically, it is a genre in which there is this improved society that turns out to be flawed. There is most likely a revolution with the government going on. If that sounds like a book you read, it was Dystopian. The Hunger Games was so good, so unlike anything I’d ever read before. I fell in love with the world and the characters, and the movies were some of the best book to movie adaptations in existence. This was so good and opened my eyes to a love I never knew I didn’t have.
So those were the books that I would travel back in time to read for the first time again. I had a lot of fun doing this. I hope you had fun reading it, and that is going to be it for this post today. I hope you enjoyed it, and I will see you soon with my next blog post.
