Hey, guys! I am super excited to come at you with a Christmas Book Tag that was created by the lovely Hailey of Hailey In Bookland on Booktube, and I will go ahead and link her original video right here. But I am super excited to do this because it is super recent and I think its a unique little tag that sounds like a lot of fun, so let’s go ahead and get into it!
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: A Book With an Underdog
For this one, I just had to go with Emika Chen from Warcross by Marie Lu.
Emika Chen is definitely considered to be an underdog because, in this novel, we consistently come to know that people believe her to be at a disadvantage, and she is. She definitely is at a disadvantage compared to the other players because she hasn’t been spending countless hours on Warcross. She has been using outdated equipment, and she just cannot afford to be doing that. But despite all of these odds stacked against her, she doesn’t back down. She does what she set out to do, and I just admire the shit out of that!
Dasher: A Book You Read Very Quickly
I could not go with any other book for this because I just found myself flying through it, and that book is Carry On by Rainbow Rowell.
This is a book that I just started and literally could not stop reading. Typically, that is how it is for every book by Rainbow Rowell that I read, but it was especially evident in this one because there are only a select few books I could equate to the amount of time it took me to read this book. I read it all in one night. This isn’t just some short book either. Its kind of long, so I definitely got a headache from reading all night, but it was totally worth it because I just devoured this book. It was just so fantastic!
Dancer: An Artistically Inspiring Book
This book should not be a surprise at all since this book is so artistic that it is a little bit crazy, but I just had to go with Gemina by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff.
This book inspired me artistically for a couple of really obvious reasons, one being the illustrations we see specifically in this second book. They are all really cute and done by the lovely Marie Lu. Our main character in this installment to the Illuminae Files series is artistically inclined and she likes to sketch, so we get to see that in Gemina, which I absolutely loved. I think it really added something to the story, and it inspired me to want to be artistic (but like in the nonart way. Like to write. I cannot do art whatsoever. It would be atrocious…)
Prancer: A Lighthearted Book
There are so many book I could name for this one just because I love fluffy contemporaries so much, but one that I don’t think everyone would necessarily think of Off the Page by Jodi Picoult and Samantha Van Leer, so I just have to go with this one.
Oh my gosh. I love this book so freaking much. This is so freaking lighthearted, and I don’t know that a ton of people have read this story. Its the cutest story in existence, and it will just make your life better if you read it. It is every fangirl’s dream as it follows a girl named Delilah who is obsessed with this fairytale book and one day her favorite character literally leaps off of the page and starts talking to her. It’s super cute and fluffy and like my favorite thing ever, and I highly recommend this book because it just makes my heart so happy!
Vixen: A Trickster Character
There are so many characters that could be labeled as tricksters, but the one that immediately came to mind, and I don’t care if you say its a cop out, and that is the Cheshire Cat from Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland.
Like are you kidding? You all had to know this one was coming. Would it really be a post on this blog without at least one Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland reference? The Cheshire Cat is the ultimate trickster. He loves to play games and mess with people. It’s literally his favorite thing. He is literally like the OG Trickster. I just couldn’t not go with his character because he is the ultimate trickster.
Comet: A Book That Is Out of This World
I definitely would go with Illuminae for this one, but I have already used Gemina, so another book that is totally out of this world is The Martian by Andy Weir.
This is a book that I feel like I don’t rave enough about on my blog. It takes place on Mars, so it is definitely out of this world, and the story is just completely out of this world amazing. Its definitely science heavy, but its told in a way that is totally easy to understand and kind of comprehend, but what I truly love about this novel is the humor that was in it. On every single page, I was just laughing hysterically. I just have so much love for this book, and I highly recommend it because it is just absolutely fantastic!
Cupid: A Couple That You Really Want to Be Together
There are so many ships I could say for this, but the one I desperately wanted and never got is the first one to come to mind, and that is totally Clary and Isabelle of The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare.
This is probably a surprising one because I never talk about this ever, not even in real life. But dammit, this is a ship that I will freaking go down with. I want this to be a thing, and I am sure there is fanfiction that I just haven’t taken the time to look up, but stay with me on this. Do not roll your eyes. Can you just imagine the badassery that would totally erupt from this freaking power couple? They would kick so much ass together and it would be so amazing, and they would be so cute together, and I just need this in my life, okay? So if someone knows of a really good fanfiction of this, definitely leave it down below because this would just be my everything!
Donner: A Book That You Constantly Shout About
I think there are quite a few books that could fit this one, but I definitely shout about Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell a lot, and I haven’t in a while, so this is kind of perfect.
This is one of my favorite books of all time, and I just can’t help but shout about it because I love it so much! Our main character Cath is literally me. She loves to write and read and she has social anxiety. She is literally me. Now she does make some questionable decisions throughout this book, but she is super relatable to me personally. She is so socially awkward, and she is just me. There’s no other way to put it. I just love this book so much, and I will always love it because it is absolutely fabulous!
Blitzen: A Powerful Book
I don’t think I could physically talk about any book (though there are a few that would totally fit this) other than The Book Thief by Markus Zusak.
This is literally my favorite book of all time. I think that it is a book that everyone should read. It is such a powerful story centered around this polish girl in Nazi Germany during World War II just trying to live her life during the war. It is so powerful, so emotional, and told in such a unique way as it is told from the perspective of Death. I just have so much love for this incredibly powerful story, and I just think this should be one of those books you should be required to read because it is just about the power of words and so many other things, and I just love it so much, and I highly recommend it!
And there you have it! Those were my Reindeer Book Recommendations. What is a couple you want to be together? Comment down below! I would love to know. And that is going to be it for this post today. Thank you all so much for reading this, I hope you enjoyed it, and I will see you next time!
