May Reading Wrap Up!

May Reading Wrap Up!

Hey, guys! I am super excited to talk about all of the books I read in the month of May! May was a little bit insane with finals and my brother's graduation so its a miracle I read any of these books honestly. June was equally crazy because I was going on vacation, I got … Continue reading May Reading Wrap Up!

January & February Reading Wrap Up!

January & February Reading Wrap Up!

Hey, guys! I didn't end up reading a lot in January, so I figured I could just combine the first two months of the new year into one wrap up. The majority of the books I read were for my classes as I am an English major, and I would say I enjoyed most of … Continue reading January & February Reading Wrap Up!

Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins | REVIEW
I recently read Pride and Prejudice and The Outsiders for two of my classes, both of which I absolutely adored. The Outsiders is a book I adored in high school and it was nice to be able to reread it again. I was surprised with how much I actually liked Pride and Prejudice. It always seemed to be a book I would shy away from and now I just want to read all of Jane Austen’s work!
I rearranged my bookshelf to where the only books on it are books I haven’t read and four of the five shelves have been filled. I’ve resolved I can’t buy any new books until I finish a good bit of these. So far I have read seven books of all of my unfinished books, which is exciting. How many books have you read so far this summer?
I just finished this book, and I really liked it. The first half was kind of boring, but I’m glad I pushed through and finished it because the last half totally made up for that. I will say this has a massive trigger warning for rape and/or sexual assault. It was a really powerful story about speaking your truth, and I really enjoyed it overall.
These are the three books I’ve somehow managed to read over the past week or so and honestly super proud of that. Obsidio has been chilling on my bookshelf since it was released last year and I am so glad I finally got around to reading it! I absolutely loved it. It wasn’t as great as the first two, but it was still pretty great.
Introducing my cat, Mango, who decided to sleep next to my book. How to Make a Wish was SO GOOD. It’s definitely one of my favorite books I’ve read so far this year. The story follows two girls, one queer and the other bisexuality, as they try to navigate their hectic life with the loss of a mother and the struggle of having an alcoholic mother. I absolutely loved it. The love story was so beautiful and despite it having a darker overtone, it was really funny. I laughed quite a bit in this book. The rep for the LGBT community was also so great, and I just loved it so much. I did write a full review which is up on my blog now (link in bio). What is your current favorite summer contemporary?
